WiFi settings, wpa_supplicant and some basics
I had some trouble with my wifi setup during flashing and restoring all my settings so I want to share some information with you.I wanted to know, where the wifi settings are stored to make a backup.
The answer: /data/misc/wifi/wpa_supplicant.conf
The answer: /data/misc/wifi/wpa_supplicant.conf
Unfortunately this file is not accessible by normal users (in older versions of Android it was), so you have to become root.
I used an App (with root permission) to make a backup of the wifi settings (basically copied this file) and restored the backup using the same app but I ran into the following problem:
I couldn’t enable WiFi and the WiFi switch in the settings was grayed out. If I clicked on the switch it told me, that the WiFi is enabling.
ADB logcat told me:

After thinking my hardware is broken I realized that I saw this problem before (~3 years ago) and it had to something to do with the file permissions. So the correct permissions for “/data/misc/wifi/wpa_supplicant.conf” are user: system (01000) group: wifi (01010) and “-rw-rw—-”.
I hope this helps somebody with similar problems.

We have a thread active, working on rooting the A110 with the 4.1.2 update.Currently, we have a tutorial made to guide you through rooting your Acer A110, if you’re using Jellybean 4.1.1. There are two options available, the manual option is using a semi ported CWM recovery and SuperSU download link.We’re currently working on building a custom method, to root 4.1.2. After being an Android user and XDA consumer for many years, I am releasing my first ROM, jkSGS3. This ROM is based on the latest stock Samsung XXELLA, with most of the tweaks and mods available on Android Revolution HD roms (I did this ROM during the time waiting for mike to release an update for 17.1, so I used his base as a start and added some of mine, all the credit for the tweaks goes to him).
As many other ROMs, I cooked this ROM for personal use, then decided to release it (That’s why the version number is B2, B1 was never released). So, most of the apps included, removed, mods and tweaks are there because I use them on my daily basis device.

Known issues:
- Installing stock kernel causes boot loop, until patched, use other kernels instead (siyah is working fine, perseus should work too).
Notes:
- Note 1: If you don’t install extra apps, and choose NOT to install JKay, then you end up with Stock Samsung experience, will less bloatware than stock.
- Note 2: ODEX, Optimized Dex, as the name says is better for speed and RAM than deodexed, that’s why I made it so.
- Note 3: JKay Framework needs JKay Deluxe Settings app from the Play Store to set all the settings (paid app, $2.49)
- Note 4: when Amazon App Store is installed as system app, it will not show install confirmation dialog.

Hello XDA.. Welcome to another new project by me, the Custom Stock ROM 3.0 Edition- Codename: “Eternity”. After a long period of waiting and as most of you have known me from my ICS ROM Thread, basically it’s a simple looking Stock Rom with some new features and apps added to this ROM that the original leaked don’t have and it looks better and faster. I feel that this is what Samsung should have done on our lovely device. Do keep in mind that Jelly Bean is in the early stages of development and minor bugs is to be expected. I have made several changes with this new version and I hope you will have a great time enjoying with this new release. If you enjoy my work, please spread the word around about this ROM.

Things To Remember:

FAQs:
Q: Is this ROM 100% lockscreen lag free?
A: It is being reduced. You can still see 1 or 2 lags.
Q: How do I flash this ROM?
A: Please refer to the Installation Procedures.
Q: How is the battery life?
A: It can last a day of usage if you are not a gaming type of person.
Steps in preserving the battery:
1. You may want to uncheck some unused feature in Google Now settings. Example: Weather, Traffic. This cause heavy usage on battery life.
2. Uncheck Backup my Phone in Settings/Privacy.
3. If you are using the Information Ticker and Weather Widgets, please set the refresh rate to 2 hours or more.
You may also want to practice the 2-3 discharge cycles to get good battery life.
If you have any other better advice or solutions on battery life, please share it in here.
Q: Is there a brick bug or Exynos Exploit in this ROM?
A: No, there isn’t any of these bugs present. So, it is safe to use.
Q: How do I solve unlock SIM card?
A: You can use Galaxy SIM unlock or you may try here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show…&postcount=277
Q: My signal bar is not good. What can i do?
A: You may want to try flashing modems that works for you previously.
Q: My device is not waking up when I press the power or the home button key. What should I do?
A: Since I do not have this issue during my few test, try installing the ROM again. Or try to download the ROM again. Make sure you read the Installation Procedure below.
Q: I get the following error “Couldn’t install on USB Storage or SD card” when trying to restore apps. What can i do?
A: Remove SD Card, install the misbehaving apps, then you reinsert SD card.
Q: AOSP Lockscreen crashes and reboot itself when I slide to unlock my device. What’s happening?
A: There are conflicting apps you have installed that causes these bug. Remove all your apps and see which is causing it.
Q: Can I apply themes into this ROM from other threads?
A: I have not tested it. You may lose some of the things in the ROM as the themes will overwrites the system/apps. Try it at your own risk. Always do a backup before attempting .
Q: Why are some of my apps FCs everytime I open them?
A: Some apps might not yet JB compatible.
Q: Is this ROM good for daily usage?
A: Yes, it is for daily usage, but as JB is in early development stage, bugs and errors is to be expected here and there. I will try my best to minimise these bugs and errors in the near future.
Q: Is this ROM multi-dpi? Can I change to 200 dpi?
A: I have not done this before. I may not be able to tell you. Try it at own risk. Always do a backup before attempting .
Q: Can I overclock and dual-boot with this kernel/ROM?
A: No.
Q: I experience over heating; that is I can feel the heat from the back of my device without doing anything. Why is this?
A: There are some apps which is running on background, trying to do updates and locations and it requires an amount of your 3G data.
Q: Which kernel is better?
A: Read below in the Warning Section.

As some of you may or may not like it, this ROM has the carrier label on the statusbar.
I urge the users to stick with it as this is the only ROM with the carrier label on the statusbar trademark.
You will not find this on any other ROMs.

It’s been awhile since I was involved in the android community. I’ve been busy freelance designing and through my jobs I tried to strengthen my skills as a designer. I would have never thought about coming back to the android scene if it weren’t for everyone’s support. I thank everyone for caring about this project even though it’s been like two years. About the Features
For now features seems quite naked. I want the theme to be minimal, but minimal is simple and not basic. I want LunarUi to match the new android Holo style.
